Around the world, young people are taking steps to advance marine conservation. In partnership with the Taiwan Ocean Conservation Administration (OCA), #theGEEP is launching the 2024 #GEEPYouthInnovation Challenge, which encourages young people to address marine issues like biodiversity loss and marine debris through the power of science, innovation, collaboration, education, and technology. Youth ages 15–30 from around the world are invited to share their ideas to protect our ocean. Winning solutions that are innovative, feasible, and informed by research will receive global recognition, a $1000 USD prize, and be invited to attend an award ceremony at OCA’s marine debris conference in Taiwan in September 2024! It is the only national membership organization dedicated to strengthening the field of environmental education and increasing the visibility and effectiveness of the profession.
